Rise in Jobs for IT and ITES Freshers in Current Financial Year
Current Financial year is going to be good for IT/ITES Fresh candidates as well as experience holders. Economy of India is growing again in this financial year. Many big IT companies are going to rise its job seeking programme. After a two year deceleration, a large scale increase in job openings is expected in the coming year.
In the oncoming financial year about 150,000 professionals are going to be hired in IT and ITES arena. Much enthusiasm is perceived in the campuses, with the announcement of the leading IT companies that freshers will be given preference in their new intake.
It is expected that TCS and Infosis the Front line companies will recruit 300,00 each by the current financial year. WIPRO is expected to take in about 100,00 and HCL about 5000 professionals. PATNI Computers has indicated that they will recruit about 300,0 persons.
Hexaware Technologies and Infinite computer solutions have come up with about 100,0 each job openings.
Techies line up to join UID project
Young techies seem to have been bowled over by the prospect of being associated
with the government’s unique ID project, with over 500 applications pouring in
till date for voluntary or sabbatical roles with the Unique Identification
Authority of India (UIDAI) chaired by Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani. As per
data complied by the Authority, CVs have come in from professionals working for
some of the bluest of blue chip firms, which include names like Google, Intel,
Cisco, Oracle, Genpact, CA (erstwhile Computer Associates) and Cognizant, apart
from Infosys, HCL and Mahindra Satyam.
Besides those with IIT and IIM backgrounds, even candidates with degrees
from Harvard University have thrown their hats in the ring for the opportunity
to contribute to the success of the unique ID venture. The UIDAI has already
taken on board four volunteers and three others on a sabbatical basis.
Currently, the Authority is in the process of short-listing and processing

HCL Technologies Has Planned To Hire
2,000 Software Engineers
Software exporter HCL Technologies has planned to hire 2,000
software engineers in the next 3-4 months to serve the new client base and
existing operations across world-wide, according to a top executive of the
company. HCL has added a couple of new clients in the past few months which has
led to an increase in demand for workfoce, reports The Economic Times. The firm
bagged two IT outsourcing services contracts worth $110 million from Texas-based
energy companies, Energy Future Holdings and Oncor.
According to the company, 30 percent of the new hires would be freshers and
the remaining 70 percent will comprise the experienced professionals. It will
take the company's total workforce to more than 57,000 globally. Till last year,
the company was high on campus hiring and took 15,000 freshers and professionals
on rolls.
"We are following just-in-time model of hiring. Unlike earlier, when we used
to give hiring guidance 18 months in advance, it will be a quarter or two in
advance, as we are yet to have a clear visibility on where the industry is
